Wuder

I tried to brainstorm last week what I wanted to do for the next steps. The only thing on my mind was islands so naturally, I started to move towards the water and how it can reveal or cover significant pieces of land. The pictures I took were supposed to show water distorting, camouflaging, or changing its own appearance and how quickly it can do so. The ocean doesn't seem to care if you found a beautiful shell underneath its surface, it doesn't care to reveal what lies beneath. So much like our minds, the ocean or water, in general, is constantly changing and manipulating its form and anything that comes within its path. Our minds, like the ocean, can reveal hidden treasures or fears whether we want it to or not. It is a force that can't be controlled. It plays tricks and distorts reality which is exactly how our brains behave towards ourselves and one another. What we see on the outside (i.e. faces) is no indication of what is being concealed.

one way of thinking of ocean : waves, currents. tides.
other ways: sea levels, and depths — bathymetry — and the revealing or hiding of land features, islands, etc etc.
