Morning routine /New Poems

These photo depicts my everyday process of getting ready in the morning, either for school or for work. I always end up leaving my room a complete mess. After an exhausting day of class, depending on how I feel, I immediately clean up or do it later and end up repeating the same cycle the next day.

I've decided that these are my last two poems that I will be making. Last semester I made 8, in total now I've completed 10. My next step is to take part of my poems to create work for it.

Awakening
The wake-up call to find value within my natural beauty
After constant criticism, stigmatization, and stereotypes
I finally understand the purpose of the media
The purpose of societal hate
The conclusion in which portrayed hatred seeks to reach
The acknowledgement of why hate is chosen over truth and love
The picture has become crystal clear
They wonder what I’ve awoken to
What conclusion has my ‘understanding’ and ‘awakening’ brought me
They itch to find the golden answer and meaning between the lines
But ... I digress
I digress from revealing my findings
Because
What good has revelation done to the revealer?
I’ll tell you…
Native Americans

The poem basically explains someone that has found the true meaning behind why there is so much hate for natural beauty and hair, but refuses to reveal their understanding, because what good did it do for the Native Americans, when they took in the settlers and revealed their secrets and used it against them after they give them home and shelter.

Uncovered
Why did she dress in such a manner?
She asked for it
Such an outfit is very provoking you know
Look at how long and silky her hair looks
Long boots, long coat, gloves, and a hat?
She is definitely asking for it

She was fully clothed!
How could someone be provoked by such dress code?
Look how elegant her skin compliments her hair
She didn’t even take time to curl/straighten it
Such a classy women
A bra, flip flops, and no jacket?
She was definitely not asking for it!

Which universe is the current reality of modern day harassment?
Perhaps if we live in an alternate universe
Women would finally be at peace from the male gaze

This poem talks about being harassed
