Doodle a Day, May 20 something to July 31st

I did one (or more) pen and ink drawings a day from May to July. Some of these had actual purposes for work or other projects but most of them were purely for putting ink on paper.

those were his words

plus a section on my website which links to

a redbubble to buy prints and other stuff

files are in folder for nathan,
statement & bio are written

also I wrote the show statement, if you haven't seen it here it is:

Cmd+Z represents twelve months of trying and trying again. In the past year, we’ve immersed ourselves in the places, the words, the songs, and the experiences that make us who we are. We choose to define ourselves not just by the end product, but by the journey in all its forms — and that means accepting that the best laid plans go often awry.
Our work displays a wide variety of media and subjects that — through time, interaction, and experimentation — have all found common ground. We’ve grown a lot. We’ve changed. But our work, from beginning to end, has always represented a facet of us.

it's going in the thesis folder at 6:00 PM today, if you didn't respond to my email with approval or edits then you owe me $300. that's just what you get for not reading the fine print

is there... anything I've forgotten? is this it?

And for my final act....

While I was finishing stuff up in the gallery folder, I realized that no one really had a way to see all the responses I had gathered since I never got to finish printing the books I was working on. Soooo, I decided to whip up a website (literally like 4 hours ago I decided to do this, so it's pretty basic in design).

So, if people want to do some reading when looking through my work, now they can!

Spreads again

The first spread hasn't changed cause I actually like the text there. For the second spread I put the circle and triangle icons on separate pages like Arielle suggested, then I added three more pages for my preposition icons and some of my sketches.

those were his words with edits
less mechanical placement, small wording changes

catalogue spreads
four spreads total, including some new stuff

process book draft
new spreads & writing updates

First go at student bio

Nicole Hoskings theme for her thesis show is abandonment, specifically focusing on abandoned homes. She took a series of abstract photographs of an abandonment home, located in Danvers Massachusetts. From the inspiration of these photographs she wrote a series of poetry also relating to the subject of abandonment. She wanted to bring imagination and new life to places that are usually forgotten about. By combining the photographs with the poetry it gives the abandoned home meaning again.

Card idea

Coronavirus has impact our lives in ways that have caused the school to shut down, business is close and making a living to be dangerous. We are affected by this physically, mentally, and emotionally.  It is a massive part of why we are unable to have our show and having a normal life. At this point, nothing is normal anymore.
